Winter and Fall Interior Design Styles

Sometimes, applying common trends can get monotonous in that everyone is doing the same thing.

Once in a while, it might pay to try and be unique. This means taking risks by using colors, art styles, and shapes that are not quite common. If it doesn’t work, it can be a nightmare but when it does, then it is a masterstroke of genius. The focus is on having it become a masterstroke of genius that has everyone trying to replicate.

Cool Seasons and Recommended Decor Tips

Escaping trends is quite difficult because sooner rather than later it catches up and you are forced to be part of it. Take for instance the case with wall mounted Tv sets that brought in a new style of home decor that was more spacious yet more simplistic or rather it incorporated the minimalist approach. But what if the trend is to encompass a more old or vintage style. Some of the highlights are:

  • Old Master’s Studio
  • Black Kitchens
  • Others

Old Master’s Studio

This style tries to exude a sense of age even where there is none. It tries to mimic the interior of households of nobility in the early 15th to 18th centuries. The idea is to have pigments of color where, instead of the smooth painted textures, you have the rough one that seems to have the paint contaminated with rough impurities such as sand or small gravel. It creates a sumptuous layer of texture which makes the walls canvases, literally.

Black Kitchens

The kitchen has for long been a place where time is spent preparing the delicacies and then they are shifted to another room where they are consumed amidst social interactions. But what if the kitchen can become another room in the house? Utilizing black surfaces on the cabinetry and kitchen furniture makes the setting bolder. All of a sudden it is not just like the traditional kitchen, but a space that you can sit by the kitchen countertop while reading your white newspaper or having a drink with friends. The tone creates drama and sophistication and when the cutlery is shiny metallic, then the lighting just adds to the spectacular spectacle.

Other older trends such as the Nordic trend are making a comeback and you can add the Tuscan layers of paint on the walls to give a different ambiance from other rooms.
